Movie Review: The Departed

Just watched the movie The Departed this afternoon.

To those who haven’t watch the movie yet: This post contains a lot of spoilers so please stop reading if you don’t want to read them.

The plot was very interesting. Here’s a very short intro.

DiCaprio plays a policeman who infiltrates the mobsters, and goes through quite a lot to keep his secret and remain sane with all the murders he’s witnessing.

At the opposite end is Matt Damon. He plays a policeman who is raised by the mobster (Jack Nicholson). He tips them to avoid getting arrested.

The movie was very entertaining, and full of unexpected twists at the end.

Brilliant performances by Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, and Matt Damon.

All main characters died at the end. It got me wondering on what the movie was trying to say.

Maybe, the writer wants to show that life is not fair and you’re better off watching your own back.

What’s New With the Zerg in Starcraft II?

I miss those days playing Starcraft in the USC Lab. Now, there’s a sequel coming and I’m really excited for it.
I hope my desktop could handle it. If not, then it’s a great excuse to upgrade.

The Zerg in the Upcoming Starcraft II are going to get some awesome new abilities. For one all zerg units will have the ability to burrow.

First Sims 3 screens, info

Expect a new engine with a new, much more detailed Create-a-Sim feature. There are more physical and personality options for Sims, in fact, the are apparently over 700 million combinations. All of the objects in the world are going to be more customizable too. It all sounds promising, but don’t get too excited just yet…

I played both Sims 1 and 2. But from the looks of it, they don’t seem very different from Sims 2. What do you think?

I’m quite unsatisfied with the current theme used on http://blog.phlist.com.

Tonight I started searching for a wordpress theme.

First I looked at the theme gallery at wordpress.com.  Didn’t find anything.

Then, I remembered smashingmagazine.com usually makes a great list about web design.

So I search on google “smashing magazine wordpress”.
